A discourse can be variously defined. It is also used by different areas of science. Discourse analysis allows to see not only what is directly given in the text, but also what has had an influence upon its creation. Therefore, the theory of discourse, where the main foundation is its three-dimensionality (cognitive dimension, expresive dimension and interactive dimension), discourse's subjects and context, can be used as a method of epistolography research.
